Pro Touch Soccer Academy Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ's)
Welcome to the Pro Touch Soccer Academy Frequently Asked Questions.
The most common questions we receive are answered here but should
you need more information please contact us on info@protouchsocceracademy.com
How do I get a trial at Pro Touch Soccer Academy (Elite Squad)?
Like most academy or clubs, we have a network of scouts who work for the
club on a local and international basis (aged 14+). They look at players
from under 7's up to semi-professional football. They will recommend players
for trial.
Can I write in to be invited to an open trial?
We hold 2-3 open trials per year.
We always watch players at their local
club/school before inviting them in for trial.
Therefore players writing in for
a trial should always include a fixture list for their teams along with directions
and anything else that might help (e.g. club and player contact numbers).
They
should also write about their football background including information such
as D.O.B, position, approx height/weight (for players aged 14+), and clubs played
for. Any representative honours such as schools, district, county etc. should
also be included.
Players writing for trials should address their letters
to the Pro Touch Soccer Academy (Trials), 82-84 Cromer Street, London WC1H
8DG
How can I be sure that my talent has not been overlooked?
Rest assured, with literally thousands of scouts representing the various clubs,
if you have the required level of ability, you should be spotted. Many people
don't think they have ever had a scout at their games when in fact just the opposite
could be true. Most of the time we do not encourage our scouts to wear clothing
linking them to PTSA. We believe that if players think a scout is there we do
not get a true reflection on their playing ability. The presence of a scout may
put unnecessary pressure on the players as they could be very nervous (this is
especially true of younger players) or try much harder just because they think
someone is watching them. Our Academy looks for players who naturally work hard
and try and do the right things.
I have waited years to be spotted, should I give up?
Within reason, it's never too late. Some players mature later than others, and
lots of top class professionals have entered the game at a relatively late stage.
Keep playing the highest standard of football possible, and never give up hope!
Above all always try your best, you never know who is watching.
Please remember we get a lot of trial requests each month and we cannot
watch everyone. The higher the level you play at the more priority we will
give your request.
What are the basic criteria to apply?
You need to be 7-16 years old and you must have played football
to District standard or been recommended to us by a Club Coach or
Scout.
I am 16 and over, can I apply?
As long as you are in your final year at secondary school, studying
for your final GCSE exams you can apply. Please have a parent/guardian
submit your details to us.
Why do you want a parent/guardian to submit the application?
